Located as Canada's westernmost province British Columbia has a land area of 947,800 square kilometer and is one of North America's most mountainous regions. British Columbia is bordered by the province of Alberta to the east, the Yukon territory and the state of Alaska to the North and the states of Washington, Idaho and Montana to the south.

The British Columbia Basketball Officials Association (BCBOA) is the recognized body for basketball officiating with in British Columbia. Covering approx 400 junior and senior high schools, 9 junior colleges and 6 Universities, the BCBOA is the third largest provincial officiating association within Canada.
